'Phesalabuhan' is a Subanen word which means unity.
May this page introduce you to our assigned community, Barangay Poblacion, Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur. We hope that you enjoy the stories created by these pictures and help you learn more of how we spent every last month of our semester.
An introduction to Lakewood:
Barangay Poblacion’s total area is 2,063.508 hectares. It is 250 kilometers. northeast of Zamboanga City and 42 km. southwest of Pagadian City along the Zamboanga City - Pagadian City highway. Its coordinates are 7° 51′ 0″ N, 123° 10′ 0″ E Decimal 7.85, 123.166667 It is bounded on the north by Barangay Pinoles, on the East by Barangay Biswangan, on the south by Kitaang dagat and on the west by Barangay Kahayag. Its topography is generally upland or eighteen percent (18%) slope. It is presently planted with intercrop of coconuts, coffee, rubber, exotic timber trees, and other fruit trees, mainly lanzones. The steepest slope is Mt. Sirongan with the northern portion of the mountain having a slope fifty percent (50%) above sea level.
